Two Months

My little Hailey Adelyn turned two months old on July 7! I am getting a more clear picture of her personality and temperament now, and I must say that our little Hailey is an absolute angel baby! She is very laid back and mellow. During her fifth and sixth week of life she went through a very fussy period that all babies go through around six weeks old, but after that little rough patch she settled down and has become quite an easy baby.

Two month chair picture!

Smiling all the time now!

Cute little smirk :)

Her Hailey trademark serious look ;)
At two months old, Hailey is:

- Going to bed around 9 or 10 (hoping this bedtime moves earlier soon!) and sleeping through usually until 4 or 5. After the early morning feeding, she goes back to sleep until around 7 or 8.

- Sleeping in the pack and play at the end of mom and dad's bed instead of the co-sleeper (she outgrew the co-sleeper by length already!)

- Napping either in her bed or her pack and play. Naps can last anywhere from 45 mins to 3.5 hours, but she usually takes her longest nap in the afternoon, when big sister naps. (Woohoo!)

- Still needs to be swaddled to sleep. We are using the SwaddleMe blanket.

- If I put her down drowsy but awake, she can usually put herself to sleep. She likes her paci and we sometimes need to replace it if she drops it, but she is not quite as dependent on it as Savannah was.

- Often is awake/alert for sometime between 1 and 2 hours at a time. Her longest awake period is after her long afternoon nap and before dinner, and sometimes she will be awake for 3 or so hours at this time.

- Nurses every 3 hours during the day and only gets up to eat once at night. (Yay!!!)

- Has been smiling since 3 weeks old. She recognizes Mom, Dad, and big sister and gives us LOTS of smiles!

- Tolerates tummy time very well and can pick her head up and turn it to either side.

- Is a very, very vocal baby. When we talk to her she constantly moves her mouth and makes lots of "Ooooooh" and "Aaaaah" sounds at us. It looks like we are going to have two talkative little girls in this family!

- Rarely cries, but instead will grunt if she is hungry or make "complaining" vocalizations until we either feed her, change her, or play with her. She usually only outright cries when she is overtired.

After having a very high maintenance firstborn child, I am loving the change of pace with this little laid back second child of mine! :) She is an absolute sweetie and I'm so thankful for her! I don't have any height/weight stats yet, but her well visit is scheduled for this Thursday, so I will update the blog after that appointment. She does still seem to be pretty tall and fairly lean (although she does have adorable chubby cheeks!) Hailey is a great addition to our family and we just love her so!
