Beach Life

We have a wonderful beach just minutes from our home. (Actually, there are several beaches within minutes from our home, but I'm just referring to our favorite one!) This particular beach has a lake to swim in, a splash pad, a playground, and a Culvers on site. There are also walking trails, scuba diving, boat rentals, and stand up paddle boarding. It is a really fun place. While it can be expensive for those who don't live within the town boundaries ($5 for parking and $10/person admission) it is completely free to residents. We have been taking advantage of the beach as much as we can lately. Here are some pictures from our recent visits!

At the start of the summer, Hailey was afraid of the sand and didn't want to touch it. However, after several visits we now have her walking on and playing in the sand. :) Both girls are getting increasingly comfortable in the water, too. At first Savannah in particular was pretty nervous about the water and wanted my hands on her all the time. Now, though, she happily floats around while wearing her little puddle jumper and will even stand up and then "jump in" to the water. I wish I had pictures of them swimming, but when they are in the water it requires Matt and I to be right there with our hands ready to help at any moment!

We will hopefully make many more trips to the beach over the course of the next month. We want to enjoy the sun as much as we can this summer!
